Michael Clarke has said that he is delighted with the aggressive approach of his team in the second test match against Sri Lanka which was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The Australian team outclassed Sri Lanka in the second test match and won it by an inning and 201 runs. With this victory, Australia has taken a lead of 2-0 in the series with one match still to be played.

Mitchell Johnson was the stand out performer for Australia in the match. He performed brilliantly both with the bat and the ball. He took 6 wickets in the match and also played a fantastic knock of 92 runs in Australia’s first inning. He was declared man of the match for his all round performance. Clarke himself also performed brilliantly with the bat and scored a hundred. He got out after scoring 106 runs.

Talking to the reporters in the press conference after the match, Clarke said, “It was a great performance by the boys. We outplayed them in every department of the game. This was probably our best performance of the summer.”
“As a captain, I am delighted with the attitude of the boys on the field. The body language of the players was quite aggressive throughout the match.”

When asked about the performance of Mitchell Johnson in the match, Clarke said, “Mitchell has been in good form this summer. Unfortunately, he had to miss the Hobart test match, but, when he got his opportunity, he grabbed it. He bowled quite beautifully in the match. He got good shape into the right handers and he bowled the right kind of length as well. He consistently hit the fuller length and created a lot of trouble for the batsmen.”

The third test match between Sri Lanka and Australia will start from 3rd of January at Sydney Cricket Ground.
