The skipper of the West Indies Cricket team, Darren Sammy, has said that he is very happy with the dominating performance of his team in the recently played T20 series against Zimbabwe.

West Indies won both the matches of the series quite easily. In the first match, the Caribbean team won by 8 wickets, while, in the second match, they won by 41 runs.
Talking to the reporters after the second T20 match, Sammy said, “We played some great cricket in these two matches. We are the world Champions in this format of the game and we certainly looked like champion on the field.”

“We defeated them by big margins in both the games and we need to put up such kind of performances in the other formats of the game as well.”

“The last time the Zimbabwe team had come here, they had defeated us in the only T20 match that was played. The fans were quite upset that day. It was nice to see them smiling again today.”

West Indies has now won six T20 international matches in a row. The Caribbean team won the semi final and final of the World T20 Championship. Then, they played one T20 match each on the tour of Bangladesh and Australia and won both of them and now, they have won these two T20 matches against Zimbabwe.

When asked about the consistency of West Indies in the shortest format of the game, Sammy said, “Yes, we have been consistent in the T20s in the last one year or so, but, we need to show the same kind of consistency in the ODIs and test matches as well. Especially, our ODI performances have been way below par in the last 6 months. We need to improve that.”
